The pump track was built by Adam Billinghurst and his crew at Earth Odyssey with the help of sponsor GMC's Exterior Design Manager, Carl Zipfel. It will be the venue for two events this summer: the Phat Kids Pump Track Challenge on July 16, and the Pump Track Challenge on July 23. The winner of the Pump Track Challenge will be invited to compete in the Crankworx Ultimate Pump Track Challenge on August 17.
“I am excited to see the return of a pump track in the Whistler Mountain Bike Park and am thrilled GMC has helped make that happen this summer,” says Brian Finestone, manager of the Whistler Mountain Bike Park. “The new GMC Pump Track gives our guests a minimal-risk area to test out their skills, learn something new and warm up before heading out on the trails.”
Those looking to ride single brake bikes on the pump track will need to obtain a special ticket and will be required to download on the Whistler Village Gondola. Guests riding the Whistler Mountain Bike Park trails are required to have bikes equipped with brakes for front and back wheels.
