JACKSON, WY – Now in its third year, the MTBparks.com Riders’ Choice Awards survey carries with it an undeniable momentum, and for us, has become an official start to the summer riding season. This year, with increased participation and some surprising rankings, we found ourselves watching the top spots change constantly in the 11th hour as the final flood of votes poured in; it’s become our Super Bowl. And then on Super Tuesday, as we compiled the results while much of the country kicked off a heated election season, we couldn’t help but draw parallels to our nation’s politics.
Northstar, CA – Northstar's Lift-Accessed Bike Park Opens June 7
Warm weather in Lake Tahoe and early-season trail maintenance has allowed the Northstar Bike Park to open its downhill mountain biking trails early this summer. With an official opening date of Friday, June 7, riders of all levels will once again be able to experience the thrill of downhill and cross-country mountain biking on some of the most popular trails in the region. Trail conditions are expected to be excellent thanks to expanded early-season trail maintenance crews.
Jackson Hole, WY — The event schedule just gets bigger and bigger this time of the year, as summer is in full swing. Downhill, Super D, Slopestyle, Endurance and Cross-country races are easy to find in any part of the United States and Canada. Northstar, CA — The winter snow that took forever to arrive has finally melted and made way for Northstar's announcement that is it completely open for Summer 2012 operations. Heading to Tahoe and not sure where to start? The Northstar Bike Academy's Bike 101 package is the perfect introduction to downhill mountain biking. For the more advanced riders, make sure to check out their signature trail, LiveWire, the first fully-irrigated mountain bike trail. Rad!
Port Angeles, WA – The party starts today, gets serious Thursday and ends Sunday as the biggest non-World Cup mountain bike racing event in the country takes place this week at the Dry Hill course west of Port Angeles.
