MOAB, UT – Desert season. It happens twice a year in Moab—ask any mountain biker. The shoulder seasons, spring and fall, when the surrounding mountain locales—including bike parks—are buried, cold, wet and otherwise miserable, there's a magic time when Moab's higher elevation is dry and its desert floor isn't too hot. VERNON, NJ – Mountain Creek Bike Park has announced a 2017 opening day of Saturday, April 15. Other details for the opening weekend, and season, including ticket prices and operating schedule have yet to be released, but Mountain Creek looks to be among the first in the Northeast to fire up the lifts for the summer season.
BOISE, ID – Idaho's Bogus Basin ski resort plans to invest nearly $4.3-million into become a year-round multiseason resort destination, according to the Idaho Statesman. A bike park is rumored to be among those improvements which also include a mountain coaster, water tubing and a new patio.
SNOWSHOE, WV – Snowshoe Bike Park has announced a 2017 opening day of Friday, May 26. The bike park will be open 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. "Get ready to sling some dirt as we start spinning the lifts and kick off another awesome downhill mountain biking season at Snowshoe Bike Park," said the bike park on its Facebook page.
BASYE, VA – Virginia's Bryce Bike Park is kicking Old Man Winter to the curb sooner than expected and has announced a 2017 opening weekend of April 15 and 16. The park will be 100-percent open and operate on an early season schedule, weekends 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., until mid-June when regular season hours commence.
