Bailey Mountain Bike Park started a soft-opening phase in early July 2015 making it the first year-round resort dedicated entirely to downhill mountain biking in the United States. Plans for the resort include more than 30 trails, a chairlift, residential lots for sale within the property and onsite primitive camping.
As of opening weekend the park has six trails open including two black diamond trails. A grand opening is planned later in the season. Numbers of visitors are currenlty limited, so visit baileymountainwnc.com for more information and to purchase tickets. Note that a full-face helmet is required to ride at Bailey Mountain Bike Park.

BAILEY MOUNTAIN ANNOUNCES PLANS FOR DOWNHILL BIKE PARK
First Year-Round Bike Park in United States to Open in North Carolina
Mars Hill, NC (April 15, 2015) — Bailey Mountain announces plans for the first year-round dedicated downhill mountain bike park in the United States today, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter for commercial gravity riding in North America. Construction will begin immediately with a target opening date in June 2015.
For this park opening up a year ago, I'm very impressed. My group and I mostly enjoy smooth blue jump and berm lines and they have plenty. The black diamonds were pretty good too with technical rock gardens and steep chutes. We went in the fall and the leaves were even cleared off the trail! The trails aren't ran by a resort either. The owners were there making sure everyone is safe, having fun, and mingling with everyone. They don't have a chair lift, but they do have 2 military trucks that you pile into for a fun and interesting ride to the top. I guess there are plans for another route or two in the next year and there's no doubt that they will be sweet. Great park, great people, great scenery, makes for an awesome experience. Thanks Bailey!!!
Bailey Mountain Bike Park is one of those places you'll want to put on your Bikeit List!
Offering a thousand feet of vert and a network of fifteen incredibly well-built downhill trails, Bailey is off to an amazing start as a newcomber to the gravity scene. 2016 is their first full year in operations and has as good (or better) trail network than many parks that have been running for years.
We loved everything about Bailey; the super friendly family-run operation, the army truck shuttle system, the variety of trails, the riders, the vibe. You name it. The bike park is unlike any other spot we've visited and the grassroots atmosphere is perfect for riders seeking a true community DH experience.
