Women's Intro to Riding the Bike Park: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
Here is your chance to learn the skills and strategies to enjoying a visit to the bike park. This is session will be centered around building the confidence to ride Green and Blue Trails with flow. We will discuss preparation, braking techniques, body position, and cornering. Expect a fun no-pressure session. This is not a session for pure beginners. A downhill bike is not required but a dual suspension bike is recommended. A full face helmet is recommended. Both can be rented at the mountain. Please be ready to ride at 10am as soon as the lifts are open.
Jumping Fundamentals: 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.
For experienced riders who want to begin to understand how to get their wheels off the ground with confidence and control. We'll cover the fundamental techniques and break down the steps to begin executing jumps. Riders need to be comfortable riding both Technical and Flow Blue Trails. A full-face helmet is required for this session.
Jumping Fundamentals Level 2: 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.
For riders who are beginning to catch air but are inconsistent or want to increase their amplitude and confidence. This session will dig deeper into the fundamentals and techniques for confident jumping. Be prepared to ride the Blue Jump Trail Creamy. A full-face helmet is required as is a downhill appropriate bike. Seat must be able to be lowered and a dual-suspension is preffered. Please be ready to ride at 10am as soon as the lifts open.
Cornering For DH: 2 p.m. - 5 p.m.
Cornering at a bike park feels very different from cornering on normal cross country trails. Speeds are faster and the berms feel much different. This session will cover the techniques needed to navigate those corners with more flow. At a minimum expect to learn more about body position, line choice, braking, and foot postion. Massanutten has a good variety of berms from big and sweeping to tight and steep. A full-face helmet is recommended. For experienced riders able to ride the Blue technical and flow trails.
