Lift Access Mountain Biking Returns to Tamarack
This was one of those race weekends. Organized by the Wild Rockies Series crew, an Enduro event was scheduled for August 3, with practice planned for August 2. However registration numbers were low, and the race has since been cancelled. BUT because of all the planning that had taken place getting trails and the resort ready for the big weekend, organizers and Tamarack have decided to keep everything in place for lift access on Sunday.

Riders will take the Tamarack Express chairlift up 1,700 vertical feet and ride the resort's trails back down the mountain. It will be the only opportunity this summer to ride the lifts, and there will be about 15 miles of trails available.
Most trails have been cleared and maintained for the event, but some of the expert terrain won't be available. There will be a variety of riding for all skill levels, and trails will be marked and maps will be available.
On any other day, Tamarack welcomes mountain bikers on its trail network, assuming you're willing to earn your gravity the old-fashioned way. It's a solid ride up the mountain to reach the topf of the trails, but worth it if you're in decent shape. Trail maps can be obtained at the golf course.
Historically, Tamarack was one of the first resorts in the region to commission a company to design and build mountain bike trails. And if you had a chance to ride them, you'll agree that they were fun to ride. With the help of IMBA and local trail builders working hard to deliver a great mountain biking experience, the Tamarack trails represent the progressive ideas of sweet, flow riding. If open this Sunday, one trail we recommended you check out is Super G, which is a 2-mile downhill trail that has lots of flow trail features.
There is talk that Tamarack officials may resume mountain biking operations next summer, and we'll be sure to let you know when we hear more.
Located approximately 5 miles from Donnelly, ID and 1/2 mile from Lake Cascade, the area offers great camping and tremendous views.
