Winter Park, CO – Red Bull Final Descent returns to Trestle Bike Park for its fourth year to challenge riders yet again in a grueling 12-hour endurance downhill mountain bike race on September 7, 2013. For the past three years the event has seen over 100 teams compete each year. The format of the event is simple: The rider or team of riders that completes the most laps down the mountain in 12 hours wins. It sounds easy enough until you find out the 2012 individual winner logged an impressive 37 laps for the win!
This race is geared towards experienced riders and is not for the faint at heart. Riders can compete as a solo rider, a duo or a team. Solos and Duos can compete at a Pro or Expert level, and Teams will all compete in an Open class.
If you think you have what it takes you should register to make sure you secure your spot. The race is limited to 150 riders on course at one time. Since teams will only have one rider on course at a time, they count as one entrant. Registration is available online and on-site during the rider check-in on Friday, space permitting.
There is a $5,000 cash purse for top finishers plus prizes from industry sponsors. If you don’t happen to end up one of the top finishers you will still walk away with a cool free T-shirt and serious caffeine buzz from all the complimentary Red Bull!
The race course will be determined by September 1, 2013, so stay tuned for those details. For more details visit this link to the calendar event for this race.
This is an amazing weekend for spectators and riders alike, so make sure you head out to Trestle Bike Park for a great end of season experience!
