Winter Park, CO – The 2013 Colorado Freeride Festival held at Winter Park's Trestle Bike Park finished in style with the fifth and final stage of the Specialized Enduro World Series and the grand finale, everyone's favorite mountain biking event of the weekend, the Intergalactic Pond Crossing.
Frenchman Jerome Clementz, who is the top-ranked Enduro rider in the world, went wire-to-wire to claim the Pro Open Men’s Enduro World Series title with a total time of 41:12.455 over all five stages. In fact, it was a good weekend overall for the Tricolore, as each of the top three overall finishers hailed from France. In the Pro Open Women’s category, world number-one Tracy Moseley from the United Kingdom earned the top prize with a total five-stage time of 45:45:847.
After all the hardware had been distributed, it was time to celebrate a successful festival with the Intergalactic Pond Crossing, where hearty cyclists attempted to cross the Village Pond on a thin track, most meeting with wet results.
With nearly 800 total athletes representing over 20 countries, the 2013 Colorado Freeride Festival will go down as the most successful in the event’s history.
