The lucky millionth guest, Ryan Domm from Edmonton, Alberta, was greeted by confetti guns, and walked away with a complimentary seasons pass for the remainder of the 2011 season, a season pass for the 2012 season and a prize pack from Bike Park sponsors.
"Whistler Blackcomb is incredibly proud to reach this milestone," said Rob McSkimming, Whistler Blackcomb's vice president of business development. "We would like to thank every rider who helped us make it to one million and we look forward to hosting our next million riders."
The Whistler Mountain Bike Park is considered the # 1 lift accessed downhill bike park in the world, offering 4,900 vertical feet of lift-serviced descending trails for thrill seekers of all levels. The world-class Bike Park trail crew is constantly breaking new ground with its design innovation. Trails range from gentle banked cruisers through the Coastal forest to tight and twisty single track - perfect for intermediate and all-mountain riders. For more advanced gravity junkies, there are steep rock faces, gnarly root-strewn lines, drop-offs of all shapes and sizes and more. The Whistler Mountain Bike Park is open May to October.
