Whistler, BC – Whistler Bike Park will have a 3 stage Phat Weekend Enduro race on September 28 for those riders not yet ready for the season to end. This will be the last race for the season, and the last chance for riders to put it all on the line and see how they measure up.
To keep things interesting, Mother Nature decided to drop some snow on Top Of The World this past weekend, which coincidentally is Stage 1 of the race course. The chances are high that there will be more precipitation coming this weekend for the race, but don't let that keep you from joining in on the fun.
The 3 timed stages will be mostly downhill and the transitions will be mostly climbing. A “6 and 6” style bike is recommended. For those willing to brave the weather, here are the course details.
From Roundhouse lodge, ride up Pika's and Mathew's Traverse to Top of the World
Top of the World finishing at Franz's bridge.
From Franz's bridge, down H86 to Raven's Nest
Up Bear Cub towards Tokum
Down Blue Velvet crossing Tokum towards In Deep
Starting on Tokum, proceed down In Deep
Past the triple Humps, turn right on Fatcrobat
Fatcrobat until you exit on Expressway
Finish at exit of Fatcrobat on Expressway
Down Expressway toward bottom of Garbanzo Chair
Up the Mid Road to 3.5 (equivalent of Sidetrack, Duffman, No Duff split)
