Silver Star, BC – Some of Canada’s top mountain biking talent competed at the 2013 Silver Star Freeride Festival held the last weekend of August. The festival featured a two day bike event packed with a dirt jump jam, a downhill chainless race and Norco bike demos. More than $10,000 in cash and prizes were awarded to competitors at the festival.
The main event of the weekend was the Silver Style Jump Jam competition, a sanctioned bronze level event on the Freeride Mountain Bike (FMB) World Tour schedule. The Silver Style Jump Jam included both amateur and open categories and provided competitors one of the last opportunities to accumulate points towards their ranking on the 2013 FMB World Tour. Following the jump jam, riders pulled out all the stops with the popular best trick competition.
The winner of the Pro/Open Jump Jam walked away with $1,000, but there was also cash awarded by the announcer for wowing the crowd with big tricks, crashes and humor.
