What type of rider would enjoy visiting Crested Butte?
Anyone who thinks cruising around on knobby tires will love riding at and around Crested Butte. The area has developed by offering a lot of diversity in terrain over the years, and when you add in the surrounding valley trails, there is truly something to make any mountain biker (or soon to be mountain biker) an immediate fan to this area.
The Evolution Bike Park includes machine built trails catering to all levels of difficulty. These trails are wider and flow through the terrain with rollers, jumps, berms, and bridges. They are tons of fun to ride for everyone from the smallest beginner kids to pro-level downhill racers.
Crested Butte also offers miles of classic Colorado singletrack that can be accessed via the chairlift for mostly descending rides, or climb these trails and "earn your turns" if you prefer. Either way, they are sweet trails and riders can also connect them with the larger trail system in the north end of the valley.
The Evolution Bike Park is located in one of the most beautiful places in the world. There is a rich and genuine culture of biking here and anyone who visits becomes immersed in it. There are plentiful opportunities for all riders to have an amazing ride while in Crested Butte.

Big Mountain Enduro Finals: September 3 - 7, 2014
The Crested Butte five-day Enduro is not for the faint of heart!
Riders will be challenged with five days of racing, four of those days deep in the backcountry, with big climbing transitions that will literally take you to the top of the world overlooking majestic peaks. The fifth and final day of racing will be held at Evolution Bike Park, also where awards and festivities will culminate.
This will be a stand alone event and not a part of the Big Mountain Enduro Series overall rankings. Registration for the Crested Butte Ultra Enduro will include five days of enduro racing in the backcountry, organized shuttles each backcountry day, lift ticket on the final day at the Evolution Bike Park, coffee and beer provided each day by our respective sponsors, breakfast and lunch each day, BME apparel kit, an annual subscription to Mountain Flyer Magazine, a large awards ceremony and an adventure experience of a lifetime.

The park offers technical trails with lots of rocks, bridges, and fun features that make up the more advanced trails. The more mellow trails wind through wildflowers and smooth singletrack for an enjoyable ride.

Opened in 2011, Awakening will introduce riders to trail design common on downhill designated areas. Wide rolling trail with berms that guide riders through open meadow and aspen forest. It is popular with beginners for its ease and excitement and it’s popular with experts for the ability to ride it fast and its large berms.

Psycho Rocks is the most technical trail at the resort. It starts with a series of technical features and then fast and flowing until you hit Psycho Rocks where you must be prepared to select lines through massive boulders and extensive bridging.

Riders will log over 20,000 feet of epic descending on some the the most amazing trails in the country.
