Northstar is home to Northern California's largest mountain bike park. Northstar California has everything you need for summer mountain and road biking adventures. From beginner to advanced cross country and downhill mountain biking trails, lift-access, bike rentals, and bike shop services. You can find it there.
GoPro sought out the expertise of the Northstar Trail Crew to design and build a first-of-its-kind feature in the Northstar Bike Park, presenting a series of different challenges and allowing riders and friends to film themselves shredding the most interactive bike park feature in the world.
GoPro camera mounts will be installed soon in strategic places for capturing the signature thrilling shots of GoPro. If you have the Hero3, you can use the new GoPro App to remotely click “record” when you’re ready to ride! The new GoPro bike park feature is located on lower Gypsy.
Getting to Northstar Resort
Northstar is located about 30 minutes from Reno and roughly three hours from the Bay Area off of Highway 267 exit on Interstate 80 (I-80). Shuttle services are available to Northstar from Reno, North Lake Tahoe, Sacramento, and the Bay Area. If you're coming from an area outside of Northern California, Northstar is accessible by any of four major airports.

Northstar offers riding on two sides of the mountain, Zephyr and Vista, each with their own style of trails. The Zephyr side tends to be more fast and flowy and is where you can find the almost too popular Livewire Trail. The Vista side is where you can find the more technical gnar and advanced trails. Wherever you decide to ride on Northstar, be prepared for some rough, loose and rocky terrain.
Northstar, CA – Northstar's Lift-Accessed Bike Park Opens June 7
Warm weather in Lake Tahoe and early-season trail maintenance has allowed the Northstar Bike Park to open its downhill mountain biking trails early this summer. With an official opening date of Friday, June 7, riders of all levels will once again be able to experience the thrill of downhill and cross-country mountain biking on some of the most popular trails in the region. Trail conditions are expected to be excellent thanks to expanded early-season trail maintenance crews.
Northstar, CA — The winter snow that took forever to arrive has finally melted and made way for Northstar's announcement that is it completely open for Summer 2012 operations.
